Newport City Radio – Live Right here, Right Now

Newport’s best-loved bands are joining forces for a very special night of live music this December, all in support of an important local cause. The Darling Buds, Burning Ferns and HAIRDYE will take over Le Pub on Saturday 12th December, raising money for the Newport & Gwent Samaritans and bringing three generations of the city’s music scene together on one stage.
It’s a cracking line-up in its own right. The Darling Buds arrive following an exciting year that has seen the band touring and their latest album hitting the charts. Newport’s HAIRDYE have spent the summer playing shows around England, with more new music on the way, while Burning Ferns are currently busy working on their fourth album. Adding to the night will be comedy “spa” Bob Martin, who’ll be keeping things moving between the bands and taking charge of a special charity auction featuring some brilliant lots.
Most importantly, the night has been designed to raise as much money as possible for a charity doing vital work right here in Newport. Le Pub has donated the venue and none of the three bands will take a performance fee, meaning every penny raised through ticket sales, minus the booking fee, will go towards supporting the work of Newport & Gwent Samaritans from their city centre base. The local branch relies on fundraising and volunteers to continue being there for people who need someone to listen.
Three brilliant ’Port bands, one legendary Newport venue and a chance to support an incredibly important cause just before Christmas.
Tickets go on sale on Sunday 6th September, and with The Darling Buds, Burning Ferns and HAIRDYE all on the same bill, we wouldn’t hang around. The gig takes place at Le Pub on Saturday 12th December, with tickets available from Le Pub. This is local music doing what it does best: bringing Newport together.
