The Summer Sessions returns for the forth successive year, it’s third at Beechwood Park. The event that started off as a training event for our volunteers has quickly become one of the biggest outdoor events the city has to offer.
We are delighted once again to be partnering with Dirty Carrot Records and Beechwood Park Community Group on this event and also new in 2026 we are pleased to also be working alongside Big Food Festival to bring you Summer Sessions XL.

She is an indie-folk artist creating dreamy, acoustic-led songs with soft vocals and diary-like lyrics about girlhood, growing pains, love, and friendship. Blending bedroom production with stripped-back arrangements, she’s performed at local festivals and continues to release new music throughout 2026. In springtime, she released her debut single, “Reykjavik,” marking the beginning of her journey as a recording artist.
He is a Soul/folk Singer/Songwriter from South Wales. Wielding 15 years of performing, writing and producing experience with various projects, Tobias Robertson has finally found his true voice.
The award winning artist will electrify you with her folky infused rhythms and passionate vocals. Having toured extensively across the UK and parts of northern Europe, multi-instrumentalist Alys is the embodiment of a free spirit with a musical style that spans blues, folk, pop and soul.
They are reletive newcomers to the scene, Yr Argraff are most definitely making the case for Newport’s band of the year, rapidly establishing their early presence in Welsh Language and rock scenes. Taking ownership of their heritage, Yr Argraff meaning ‘The Impression’, dare to tread new grounds as their upcoming EP introduces their reflections, in both Welsh and English, to the diverse audiences of Wales.
London-born singer-songwriter Brooke Law brings a fearless fusion of country, rock and pop to Summer Sessions, delivered with raw emotion and a gutsy vocal punch. Brooke has been taking the UK festival scene by storm with her unapologetically honest songs about resilience, empowerment, and human connection.
Hailing from Cardiff, Four Act Riot are taking the UK by storm with their catchy melodies and heavy riffs. Inspired by the likes of Sam Fender, this indie four-piece have already had tracks their single ‘Insecure’ played extensively on international radio and deep cut ‘Crisis’ features on BBC’s ‘Stranded On Honeymoon Island’.
Forsaken Duo are an award-winning dark Americana duo from Pontypool, built around gritty vocals and dark acoustic guitar. Recently named Best Covers Act at the Love Live Music Awards, they perform mainly covers with a few original songs woven into their set. Intimate, atmospheric and full of feeling, Forsaken Duo show how much one voice and one guitar can do.
MACY creates infectious pop music packed with energy, heart and big hooks. Since her debut single Cinema in 2020, she has performed at the Principality Stadium, BAFTA Awards, FOCUS Wales, In It Together Festival and M for Montreal. With BBC Radio 1 and BBC Radio Wales support, MACY continues to establish herself as one of Wales’ exciting emerging pop artists.
Newport-born multi-instrumentalist Greg Ryan is a versatile composer and folk artist. From award winning cinematic piano music to BBC-championed Americana, his work balances emotional storytelling with upbeat folk charm with songs touching on the absurdity of modern life, the beauty of the Welsh mountains and the life and works of under-appreciated female paleontologists.
Formed by guitarist and songwriter Jon Evans and vocalist Kat Jones, Tusker draw on backgrounds that span folk, rock and metal to create emotive melodies and rich acoustic arrangements deeply rooted in honest storytelling. Combining Jon’s distinctive fingerstyle guitar work with Kat’s powerful husky vocals they craft songs inspired by life experiences, human connection and the music that has shaped their journeys.
Onika Venus is currently making waves with her own unique blend of roots reggae and soul. Her single “Who’s Been Loving You” was hailed as ‘summer in a song’, with airplay on BBC Points West, BBC Radio 6 BBC Radio 4, BBC Introducing, Radio London, BBC Radio Bristol and even in Jamaica. Known to leave audiences mesmerised as a solo performer we are incredibly lucky to close out this year’s Summer Sessions with Onika and her full band.
Chepstow-raised soul singer and piano-led songwriter Josh Hicks is emerging as one of the most exciting new voices in UK soul. With a richly distinct, emotive tone drawing comparison to Amy Winehouse and Duffy, his music blends timeless soul with modern pop R&B melodies. Multi-award-winning artist he has received support across local and regional BBC Radio Wales, Welsh A List and BBC Radio 2, and performed sold-out shows in London, Bristol and his hometown of Newport.
They are an indie band from Caerphilly, South Wales, creating uplifting, introspective music inspired by beach sunsets and living in the moment. At just 19, they have built a reputation through relentless gigging and songwriting. Their energetic live performances and new single, Too Soon, mark them as a rising UK act.
She is a singer-songwriter, actor and musician from Porth in the Rhondda Valleys, South Wales. She released her debut single “How Not To Start a Fight” in 2021 and has since continued to grow an impressive catalogue of music. Most recently, Caitlin appeared on Molly Palmer’s BBC Radio Wales Show broadcast live from the Sheps in Cwmaman and sang a brand new song as well as her own cover of “Maybe Tomorrow” which is out soon to stream.
