Pride in the Port Returns: Newport City Radio Is Ready to Make Some Noise! 🏳️‍🌈

Pride in the Port is back next weekend, and Newport City Radio will be right in the middle of the celebrations as we take over Friars Walk for an afternoon of music, entertainment and plenty of Pride energy. We’ll be bringing the sound of our Pure Pride radio shows into the city centre and, as you’d expect, we’re planning to #MakeSomeNoise!

What to expect

From 12pm, expect a soundtrack packed with camp classics, handbag hits and feel-good Pride anthems, alongside our All Request Disco, giving you the chance to choose some of the music. We’ll also be opening up the microphone during the afternoon, so expect a few surprises as Friars Walk becomes our home for one big colourful celebration.

Leading the proceedings will be our compere Minus De Kock, joined by a fantastic line-up of performers. We kick off at 12pm with Newport City Radio and Minus De Kock, followed by loop-pedal legend Delicious Dee at 12:15pm. At 1:15pm, vocalist Leah-Ann takes to the stage, followed by Newport favourite Lissa C at 2:15pm and Frankie Wesson at 3pm, with another performance still to be announced for 4:20pm.
