Maindee Festival is back on Saturday 4th July, bringing another unforgettable day of music, culture and community to Maindee Primary School. Building on the success of last year, Future Maindee Part 2 celebrates everything that makes the area special while looking ahead to the next generation of local talent and creativity. Best of all, it’s completely free to attend, although donations are gratefully received through our bucket collections
The day begins with the ever-popular community parade, setting off at 12:30pm from Maindee Primary School, making its way to the Riverfront before returning for an afternoon packed with entertainment. From 1pm, festival-goers can enjoy live performances from some of Newport’s brightest emerging artists, including Hairdye, Lissa C and Oscar Holland. Maindee Primary School pupils will officially open the live music programme, while Operasonic and Urban Circle will each take over the stage for a special 60-minute showcase to round off the day.
There’s far more than music on offer. Visitors can explore the lively Dance area, enjoy powerful spoken word performances, and discover the eco-powered Tent of Intent, home to local traders, delicious street food and inspiring organisations sharing ideas for a greener, stronger and more connected community. Every part of the festival has been designed to celebrate local people, local creativity and the vibrant spirit of Maindee.
Whether you’re coming for the music, the parade, the family activities or simply to soak up the atmosphere, Maindee Festival 2026 promises something for everyone. It’s a day to celebrate the people, places and talent that make Newport unique, proving once again that the future is local, the future is bold, and the future is Maindee. We look forward to welcoming you on Saturday 4th July.
