There’s something special about Newport when the music takes over.

On Friday 27th and Saturday 28th March 2026, the Newport Music Trail returns for its second year — and it’s shaping up to be bigger, louder and even more connected than before.

This isn’t your typical festival.
There are no gates, no wristbands, no barriers.

Instead, the whole city becomes the stage.

A Festival Across the City

The Newport Music Trail is a free, festival-style experience that celebrates everything great about our local music scene.

From established venues to hidden gems, you’ll be able to move between gigs just like you would at a major festival — discovering new artists, catching familiar favourites, and soaking up the atmosphere as the city comes alive.

It’s about:

Supporting local and Welsh talent
Bringing people into our venues
Creating a shared experience across Newport

And most importantly… it’s about the music.

Newport City Radio Stage – John Frost Square

This year, we’re proud to be hosting our very own stage in John Frost Square — right in the heart of the city.
