Episode 80: Why Cody Rhodes winning the World Title makes total sense
To start the show, what kind of music do they make? Meg described her music as chill hip hop with some singing. She makes some experimental music but chill is the main vibes of her music. She described that you can listen to it anywhere.
As for Meela, she’s multigenre, her music doesn’t fit into a category, she explained that music is like an emotion and there isn’t just one emotion. She is also from a musical theatre background and has always been singing.
One of the first songs we listened to was “Come Around”, a collaboration between Meg and Meela. The song is about karma and how what goes around, comes around.
Meela talked about her upcoming track “I Know”. The song is a very angry song which tackles the topic of cheating. It talks about a woman’s intuition with something such as cheating. The song is out on January 30th and we got an exclusive listen on the show.
On the show, Meg talked about the Launchpad fund. Meg has got the launchpad fund which is funding to support artists from horizon in the BBC.
Recently, both Meela and Meg played Gigs for Gaza. They had over 200 people apply to play but very limited slots for the final show. According to both, it was a stressful organisation but in the end, it ended up being a very good event. The event raised money for Gaza, all money raised went though to Save The Children. In the end, the event raised over £1300.
As usual, Meg and Meela had to take part in saying the name of the longest Welsh town name. Meg herself isn’t Welsh so the challenge was quite interesting. Meela said the town name is 5.04 seconds and Meg said it in 6.67 seconds.
