Here's how the winners are selected:
Anyone can nominate themselves or someone else for an award. It only takes a single nomination to be considered by our first panel of judges, made up of Newport City Radio presenters from our specialist shows.
The list is reduced to ten nominees in each category. This is then narrowed down to a shortlist of three by a separate panel of judges who are not part of Newport City Radio. From this shortlist, the same judges will select a winner.
This independent panel includes industry professionals, music teachers, venue owners, record label and studio owners, as well as music lovers and established musicians from outside the South Wales area, helping to ensure the judging process remains as fair and unbiased as possible.
