Episode 78: What'll be in the box at Elimination Chamber?
Last month we saw the newest edition to Newport’s vast array of Pop Culture shops with The Television, Music and Movie store opening up in Friars Walk. We sent our very own king of the comics DJ EJ to check it out.
I wanted to see merchandise from some of my favourite movies which includes Jason and The Argonauts, Clash of the Titans, Sinbad among others which reminds me of my childhood.
Just like other Pop Culture shops I’ve been into I was hoping to see a vast array of Pop Vinyls from franchises of both big and small screen and gaming.
To be honest I really liked a figure that they had in the shop window of “The Thing”. I used to watch the movie when I was growing up and I’ve even played the game of the same name on my PlayStation. It really got me excited for what else they potentially had in store.
They also had quite a few different Funko pops which was from Alien which was released in 1979. They had Ripley, Dallas, Kane, Lambert among many others for sale and of course the Alien himself
I really like this shop. It definitely is bigger than the other store in Cardiff. It has lots of good hidden details and plenty of things that I certainly got nostalgic about. I’m sure others will to. It felt like I was going back into the future!
This shop is perfect for young and old as they have a wide range of toys, shirts and comics that have a great sense of nostalgia as well as some new franchises that I wasn’t familiar with before entering.
