The RSPB said, in a Welsh Government ecology report, that the revelation was emblematic of wider environmental concerns around the scheme. A five-month public inquiry into the plans begins on Tuesday.
Ministers have insisted that the project is vital as congestion on the M4 is holding back the economy.
But their preferred "black route" cuts across the ancient marshlands of the Gwent Levels, a haven for wildlife.
As well as rare plants, invertebrates and aquatic mammals like voles and otters, the latest species to be spotted is the common crane.
Q) Should the M4 plans go ahead, or should they seek another route?
Q) Is it more important to prioritize?
Pippa Bartolotti, deputy leader for the Wales Green Party, said “the new traffic reports collated by the Welsh Government for the current M4 show that in five years the motorway traffic has only increased by 2,842 journeys. The projected expenditure of the proposed new road is £1.5 billion – that’s more than £5million pounds for every singular extra journey, hardly good value for money. Then we have the collisions report which show that for the stretch of M4 between Castleton and Magor, the collisions reported are actually less than the national average".

It was only a week ago that Nokia announced the re-release of the Nokia 3310. A few days ago, the media even got a chance to try out the new 3310. One of the best parts about the phone is that it mixes elements from the traditional 3310 with elements from modern smartphones.
However, a big flaw has been found already. While the phone uses new, updated parts it still communicated with networks who use old frequencies (2G). These are the kind of frequencies that were used before the internet became popular.
Unfortunately, 2G has been cut off in a lot of countries which renders a lot of the phone features completely useless. Some of the countries that no longer use 2G include; Canada, Australia, Singapore, Switzerland, Taiwan and America.
Q) Do you think people will still buy the phone, even without internet feature?
