s September draws to an end, there is another weekend of entertainment and activities available in and around Newport. This week there is something to suit everyone; from comics to panto, and horror films to live music.
Dragondaze Games and Comic Con

Price: Adults £7.50, Children £5.00, Children under 10 Free entry.
This gaming and comic event is being run to fundraise for children’s charities; Barnardos Young Carers, and Sparkle. The day celebrates gaming and invites visitors to play games, dress up and have fun. A best costume competition, raffle and live guests will be at the event.
Step Out With Extend
When: 30th Sept @ 3pm
Where: St Julian’s Methodist Church
Details online are limited for this event, but it is billed as a ‘Celebration of Older Persons Day’ with a range of activities available. There will be taster sessions, demonstrations, a raffle, refreshments, information stands and talks.
The Exorcism of Emily Rose

Free drive in movie nights continue at the National Dive Centre on Saturday with The Exorcism of Emily Rose. This is the last of the advertised free movie nights at the site, and the NDAC gear up for their Fear Fest hallowing spectacular.
Friars Walk Blas Lleol Food & Craft Market

Friars Walk will be hosting its monthly food and craft market on Sunday. This will showcase some of the best local cuisine, gifts and crafts. Exhibitors will include Dot’s Cakes and Caws Cenarth Cheese.

Where: The Riverfront Theatre
This Sunday the Riverfront are inviting young budding thespians to take to the stage and audition for a part this year’s Panto. 20 children are needed to be part of the show, aged between 8 and 17. The audition will include learning a short dance routine, singing alone and in groups, and reciting a very short prepared poem or joke.
Love Live Music Awards

Join Newport City Radio in a celebration of local, live music from Newport and the surrounding areas. Judging categories include Best Solo, Best Entertainer and Best Duo. There is still time to get your tickets, and vote for who you want to be crowned with the Best Original Song.
