ello and welcome to another edition of Dani's Music Box. As I travel the world, I'll be bringing you music that I love and hoping that I'll make some fans of you with the music I present, or rekindle your interests in the bands and artists that I present to you.
This week, the band I'll be presenting to you hails from Suffolk. They supported Green Day in Cardiff 15 years ago with a number of other bands and artists, (Hundred Reasons, [SPUNGE], Face To Face and Iggy Pop,) and have only released four albums, so here's to waiting for another album.
The band for this week is called A. I think that everyone should listen to this band as they are awesome. Don't take my word for it, get off your ass and find them on youtube. I promise you won't be disappointed.
The band formed in 1993 and released their debut album, How Ace Are Buildings (1997), four years later. Around this time, I was starting to properly get into music. A were a band that were different. They were among a whole wave of British bands who sounded American that mixed Punk, Rock and Metal music together.
Two years later, they released their second album, A vs Monkey Kong (1999). This was roughly when I'd started writing poetry and lyrics for myself. I'd bring a book into school and just write in it when I wasn't in lesson. My friends would also submite poetry and lyrics in the book also.
Their third album, Hi-Fi Serious (2001), was their heaviest and punkiest album to date. I saw the band on tour with Green Day as I mentioned earlier and despite liking their music previously, this was the album that cemented my fandom.
The last album they realeased was back in 2005. The album was titled, Teen Dance Ordinance (2005). At this point, I had two band projects on the go as well as a solo project which went nowhere, a lot like many of my other projects.
Since their last album, the band haven't made any more music, they haven't toured and I'm currently waiting in anticipation to see what else they will produce, as I love the band and hope they release more music. Here's to hoping. Watch this space.
This is it for another week, next week I'm probably going to be back in the states. So, any guesses as to who I'll be writing about? Find out next week. Until then, take care.
