elcome back to another edition of my journey through music in my series, Dani's Music Box. After a short break, I'm staying in California a little longer, mainly Los Angeles, more specifically the San Fernando Valley.
This will be my last adventure in the states for a while, as I'll be heading over to Europe for a bit. This week though, the band I'll be exposing is a family of musicians - in fact they're sisters and they're Jewish.
Have you guessed it yet? Yes I'm talking about Haim. So without further ado, let's get this show on the road.
Haim formed in 2007 and the band consists of three sisters and a drummer separate to their family. Coming from a musical background, they were encouraged to follow their passion for music.
They released their first album, Days Are Gone, in 2013. Now I'm constantly on the lookout for new music all the time, especially when I don't realise I'm looking for it. So it came as a surprise to me that the day I saw the music video for their single, 'The Wire,' it would be the day that I found a new band to like - mainly due to their lyrical content and their musicianship.
I personally think that they're a good band and I have been waiting with anticipation, for some new material to surface and a tour to appear. Within the last four years, my own musical project - my latest project I should say - has started taking shape and hopefully I'll be going on tour with that.
However, I digress. The wait is now over as their second album, Something To Tell You, will be released on 7 July. You know what that means don't you? Well I'll tell you... New album means new tour.
As they haven't released much, this is your lot for now, so enjoy the video below and catch me next time as I mosey on over to Berlin and showcase some music from fellow Brit. Until then, stay safe and happy travelling.
