ick and Morty’s last episode of this season opens up with the President of the USA, who is a parody of President Obama, asking Rick to clear the White House’s secret tunnels of an alien rat problem. They finish this easily which leads them to insult the President behind his back for asking them for a job a pest exterminator could do. In fact, the President, who was spying on them, catches them and starts a rivalry with Rick.
The President then calls them out on the insults and for leaving without telling him, only for Rick and Morty to call him out on spying on them with a satellite. Not long after this, they discover a new nation capable of nuclear missiles similar in size to ants. The President is annoyed that the duo got there first and wants to assassinate them with drones, but he soon finds out that they were hiding in the oval office; the last place he expected them to be. Eventually, they get into a fight over having a selfie with Morty ending it by leaving as he didn’t want the selfie.
The subplot in this episode is about Beth realizing that she could be a clone, leading to a crisis. Rick assures her that she isn’t but realizes that this would be something he’d lie about and that he would kill her if she actually is a clone. Jerry comes over and tries to calm her down, leading them to make up. Rick calls Morty to learn where he went, and it turns out that he went with his family and took his portal gun. They end up at the bottom of the family totem pole, with all of their jokes at his expense.
In my opinion, 'The Rickchurian Mortydate' is a good episode, with a decent parody of President Obama’s darker side of spying with satellites and assassinations with drones. The episode has good action in the battle with Rick. But, the story is ok but it doesn’t really fit as a season finale and I think that 'The Rickantis Mixup' would’ve served better as one.
