he second episode of the season starts off with the family throwing Jerry under the bus after the ending of episode one where he forced his wife to choose between him and Rick, where she picked Rick almost instantly and filed for divorce.
Rick, Summer and Morty after dealing with Jerry head off right into a new adventure, a Mad Max styled world where the gang are trying to obtain a crystal that has a lot of energy. Summer goes off the deep end and develops into more of a wasteland raider personality, Rick and Morty also just want to leave when they get their hands on the crystal, which is well guarded but Rick has a plan, injecting Morty's arm with the muscle memory of a muscular arm, somehow making his arm grow in size and a side effect of it gaining sentience.
Meanwhile back on Earth, Rick has set up some robot doppelgangers to fool Beth that the kids aren't home and to keep her company, even then the robot Morty gained sentience and tried to get rid of the coding restraints because he wants to live. There's also some subplots of Morty's arm trying to get revenge on a raider who killed his family including himself and Summer falling in love in the bandit's warlord and how it's revealed that his face is pretty normal, which is surprising considering the post-apocalyptic environment.
Personally this episode is pretty weak when it's following one of the best episodes of the show because it doesn't really feel like how the characters would act in the situation and the humor is bland and trying to be clever when it isn't. The story is just a cliché, with divorce jokes and a mediocre mad max spoof, it makes it feel that it was written by new people who ether doesn’t understand the humor of the show or are just not that good at writing dark humor.
