t’s been a very busy December for me at Newport City Radio, watching as many new films as I can, baking Christmas cakes and catching up with the TV. I’ve also had a lovely family Christmas day.
As it's Christmas I’ve been chosen three festive anthems each week and an extreme track (from the 1980’s) which all get played out from 5:45pm every Monday. It’s all a bit strange at the moment as Christmas Day and New Years Day both fall on a Monday and Newport City Radio is closed. Luckily Chloe, Lamsie and I have been in today to do our show between 2 and 4pm. We’re back to normal on Monday 8th January from 5pm.
I’ve been busy baking as always. This December I’ve made Christmas cakes for Newport City Radio and Cineworld. I hope that you enjoyed them. I spent Christmas day at my sister’s house with my brothers, sister partner and my nephews. My Christmas lunch was lamb curry, rice, peas and coleslaw with potato. It was nice and not too spicy. Just before the big day I went the Man of Gwent with the radio team and had a signature double dip rib eye steak. Gareth Willey beat me at pool (I secretly let him win as it’s Christmas)
This month I’ve been to see Star Wars – The Last Jedi. Pitch Perfect 3 and Jumanji – Welcome to the Jungle. My favourite was Pitch Perfect 3. I like it as they come together at boot camp to sing their final songs. In Jumanji I feel that it wouldn’t have been as good without The Rock. In Star Wars, I agree with Lamsie and his blog which contains spoilers.
TV : Inhumans
Marvel’s Inhumans was like the first X-men movie when the characters are not the same as the comic book. Lockjaw is not the same the dog. Black Bolt, the enigmatic, commanding head of the inhuman royal family and King of Atitlan, possesses a voice so powerful that the slightest whisper can destroy a city. After a military coup splinters the family, the group which includes Black Bolt's wife, Medusa; his brother and rival, Maximus; the final showdown between Black Bolt and Maximus takes an unexpected turn. My review of Inhumans it’s not good on TV and maybe Netflix
Catch Ean (DJ EJ) every Monday from 5pm with Lamsie and Chloe.
