Satire Has Become a Reality
It turns out that Trey Parker and Matt Stone have decided that reality is funnier than anything South Park can satirise, according to Australia's ABC News, Parker said what has happened in the US's political climate has quote 'much funnier than anything that we can come up with. It's tricky because satire has become reality'. Stone said that the two of them welcome a little break, while politicians can take on the heavy comedy lifting. He laughed letting everyone in government do there comedy for a little bit. South Park season 20 saw the character Mr. Garrison with his orange spray tan and staunch anti-immigrant platform adopted in season 19 as a stand in for the current US President, while the current political situation in the US seems right for satire, it’s not the first time that the GO has shied away from the comedy target. Last summer when Pokémon Go was all the rage Parker and Stone has decided not to do an episode focusing on the phenomenon, they said 'we already did in 1999!' Parker said during Comic Con referring to the Chinpokomon episode of the show.
