his Saturday, 5th March sees the city welcome a new event for families. Running from just after 3pm-7pm the city centre sees pop up storytelling, drumming, lantern making, performances in John Frost Square, culminating in a light and sound show at approx. 6.20pm by The Wave, outside the Riverfront Theatre.
Bring out your lantern (or make one with us from 3pm) as we journey through the story of Chartist Jack at Westgate Square, a local hero and freedom fighter, onto John Frost Square with music from Gwent Music just after 5pm.
Then it's onto The Riverfront Theatre for just after 6pm where the scene is set for a travel through time from the 1830's, onto the future where a giant birdcage takes centre stage and projections light up the outside of the Riverfront itself. Wrap up warm and see the magical show come to life! Follow us on twitter @chatchartism or facebook 'Celebrating Chartism'.
