his week, I was joined by Pippa Bartolotti, who's a local candidate for The Green Party. I interviewed her to understand why she's chosen to run in Newport, after being the Leader of The Green Party in Wales in the past.
I also interviewed an independent candidate, Allan Morris, that very morning. I played our interview on the show, where he explained why he's running independently instead of joining a political party.
At the end of the show, Pippa, El (my co-presenter) and I had time to talk about the snap election.
Prime Minister Theresa May has called for a snap general election, which will happen in only seven weeks. That is if MPs vote in favor of having one.
Q) Are you happy about this announcement?
Just before the show, MPs voted for a general election, with an overwhelming majority of 522 voting for it and only 13 voting against it.
Q) Why do you think so many MPs, from all parties, want a re-election?
The most recent voting intentions, according to YouGov, show that 44% of people want to vote Conservative, while only 23% of people want to vote for Labour. Other parties have lower percentages.
Q) How do you think people will vote?
Just hours after announcing a snap election, Theresa May announced that she won't be taking part in any TV debates, which has shocked the public.
Q) Why do you think she doesn't want to do TV debates?
