He has recently been training with Championship side Birmingham City but has opted to move to Rodney Parade until at least the end of the season.
There is plenty to play for in these last 10-games and I am hoping to be involved at Torquay on Saturday
Blake has represented Wales 14-times and has put in some impressive performances for his country, notably keeping Wayne Rooney quiet in a fixture against England in 2012, and he’s announced his delight at signing for the Exiles.
“I had been training with Birmingham City since February but am grateful for Justin Edinburgh and Newport County in showing faith and signing me through until the end of the season,” Blake told the Newport County website.
“I can’t wait to get started and playing games for the County. There is plenty to play for in these last 10-games and I am hoping to be involved at Torquay on Saturday.”
County have also signed Charlton Athletic defender Kevin Feely on an emergency-loan deal until the end of the season.
Feely is a Republic of Ireland Under-21 international and is excited about the prospect of joining the Exiles. “It’s all been a bit of a whirlwind,” said Feely.
“I got the call from Charlton yesterday afternoon and by 8pm I was on the road to South Wales! I just want to play games and I spoke to Michael Smith (former County loanee) who was really positive about his time there and told me the squad and staff are a good bunch of lads.”
