After an average start, Lewis Hamilton found himself in a battle with Sebastian Vettel's Ferrari all afternoon with meant that Nico Rosberg had no real challenger all afternoon.
He closes the gap on Hamilton in the championship, but he's going to have to continue this kind of form at the next race in Monte Carlo to reLly get Hamilton thinking.
Rosberg has won in Monaco for the last 2 years so the odds are certainly in his favour, but Hamilton will not take too kindly to being 2nd in Spain.
Monaco is the jewel in the F1 crown and certainly am looking forward to it. As well as that it is also the Indianapolis 500 on Sunday evening too, so it will be interesting to compare F1 to inducers and see where F1 could learn a few lessons.
The Ferrari of Sebastian Vettel is certainly in with a shout this season after his brilliant win in Malaysia, and his good form this far this season. But he is going to have to crank it up a notch to mount a serious championship challenge.
After Malaysia, we all thought that it wouldn't be a Mercedes dominated championship after all, but Barcelona seems to suggest that it will be after all.
As for McLaren, their woes continue. Still without having a single point his season so far, they seem to be struggling with their reunion with Honda. However, Jenson button has said he expects the car to be better in Monaco. Will he and Fernando Alomso be an.e to score so,e decent points tho? I for one have my doubts!
Next time on Formula 1.........Monte Carlo, Monaco.
