n Friday 2nd March, The Neon are hosting a fundraising rave night, with a whole host of top DJs. Join the party, dance the night away, and help raise important funds for a little boy’s lifesaving treatment.
The family of two-year-old Jacob have launched a fundraising appeal, to raise the funds he needs to have specialist life-saving treatment in the America.
Just before Christmas, Jacob was diagnosed with a rare form of cancer; High-Risk Neuroblastoma. He is currently undergoing chemotherapy, while the family raise funds towards the specialist treatment, known as difluoromethylornithine (DFMO), which is not available on the NHS.
Over £10,000 has already been raised by the family, but the cost of Jacob’s life-saving treatment is £250,000. Attending the Rave On Jacob event is a way for you to show your support for the family and help them towards this target.
The family also want to raise awareness of High-Risk Neuroblastoma, as it is often difficult to spot symptoms. Jacob was originally taken to hospital after his parents noticed his stomach was swelling and he was showing signs of constipation. It was not until further tests were carried out, that a tumour was found on Jacob’s left kidney.
The fundraising event is running on Friday 2nd March from 9pm until 3am. Confirmed DJs for the night are; Martin Dibble, Matthew O'Keefe, Shane Morris, Tyrone Rose, Tekno Tom and Liam O'Connol. Tickets cost £5.30 per person, and can be purchased online.
