ver the past few days, Paramore have been teasing fans on Facebook and Twitter over their upcoming fifth studio album by slowing unveiling its album art. The band haven’t said anything else about the upcoming album – until today!
The anticipatingly awaited #P5 is titled After Laughter and it is to be released May 12th - however, this is not the only Paramore news we have today. The first single from the album has officially dropped! It was revealed by American radio station ALT 1033 that the new song was going to be premiered on the station at 8:30am (1:30pm for us here in the UK).
It’s been just over 4 years since we got new music from Paramore and since then, the band has been through the mill with bassist Jeremy Davis leaving the band and accusing lead singer Hayley Williams of cheating him out of royalties. The band were going to continue as a two-piece until they recruited ex-band member and drummer Zac Farro – who originally left the band in 2010 along with brother and guitarist Josh Farro.
Now the band is semi-reunited and back with a bang with new single Hard Times. The track is an upbeat, catchy and obvious up-yours to all the troubles the band have faced in recent years. This song mirrors the sound of their previous album but it is still so new and fresh and far from the sound they used to be before Zac left. This is one badass song with a very psychedelic music video to go with it – and as a budding filmmaker myself, it is music video goals! After listening to the Hard Times of repeat for the best part of an hour, I am so hyped for the new album and I can’t wait to hear more! Check out Hard Times here!
