he Flash’s second season opens up with a celebration - the Flash saving the city from a black hole. This is interrupted by a meta human by the name of Atom Smasher, a villain who can gain more strength by draining radiation and who gives a hint towards the main antagonist of the season, Zoom.
The first half of the season gives us the multiverse, expanding the DCTV’s potential to be near infinite (with infinite universes with infinite variations on DC heroes). All heroes are bad guys and all bad guys are heroes. Barry also gains the help of Jay Garrick and Earth Two Harrison Wells. The flash of his world though he seems to have lost his powers, but with training from Barry, while Harrison Wells helps try to find a way to beat Zoom or at least weaken him.
This season has villains - people who the audience may not have heard of like:- Doctor Light, who has many incarnations and is a C-list villain; the Turtle, the slowest man alive, who can slow everything around him; and king shark, a giant man-shark, kind of like killer croc from batman. Other than that it’s mostly return of the rouges from the last season and some new ones.
The second half of the season is about taking the fight to Zoom: trying to find out a way to take him down either by weakening him, or finding a way to improve Barry’s abilities. with Flash even trying to save the daughter of Harrison Wells or going back in time trying to fool the reverse flash to find some sort of boost.
In my opinion this is a pretty good season with some good CGI for TV, for example, Grodd and King Shark who are very well depicted within the budget, and some good action with the speedster fights. It's decent drama, but nothing to write home about. Overall it’s worth watching if you like the Flash.
