So in the north, Jon, Sansa and Sir. Davos are looking for alliances to take back their home, Winterfell. First they go south of the wall to ask the Wildlings, who are unsure. But their leader, Tormund Giantsbane, now Jon’s friend, persuades them because Jon saved his life, so they fight for him.
Then they travel to Bear Island, where they get to see Lady Lyanna Mormont. She is a scary, fierce little girl. They seek allegiance but they are bombarded with insults by her. Sansa is not a Stark and neither is Jon but Sansa insists that she is half Stark, even though she was half Lannister now Bolton. Sir Davos tells her about the whites and the Night King that are coming this way, and that they must fight for them to secure a better Westeros. After putting up a hard bargain, she accepts to make allegiance with them, but she only has 62 men…
Then, is the trek to Lord Glover. They refuse alliance with them because they have taken over Deepwood Motte with the aid of the Boltons, besides, they would never join a sides with Wildlings anyway.
Margaery is still I think putting up this charade of working with the high sparrow. She’s in a meeting with her grandmother, Olanna. Margaery tells her to leave here and go back to Highgarden, she goes on one knee and gives her grandmother a note discreetly. She opens the note outside her room and there is a rose drawn upon it. This has me confused… what the heck does this mean?
Margaery and Olanna
Later, Cersei talks with Olanna, making her feel bad about leaving Kings Landing while her nephew is in the cells. She responds with this excellent comeback, “I wonder if you are the worst person I have ever met. At a certain age it is hard to recall, but the truly vile do stand out.” Oh slay queen.
After being exiled from Kings landing Jaime is riding to Riverrun, and after getting there he sees the shoddy army of House Frey. They have Lord Edmure Tully around a noose. They use him as a bargaining tool to take back Riverrun. After several failed attempts Jaime intervenes and calls for a Parlay. Jaime talks to the Blackfish surrendering the castle. Jaime says that the war is over, and Brynden replies, “The war is never over as long as I’m standing” and walks back into his castle.
Theon and Yara finally arrive somewhere in Essos them and his crew are in a pub. Their plan is to team up with the Dragon Queen Daenerys. I am not happy about this, I wanted Jon and Sansa to meet her or at least Arya.
Arya books travel to Westeros! Finally! She walks around town a while, waiting for her boat when an old woman sweetly says, “Sweet girl?” Arya turns and is slashed across the belly. The old woman pulls her closer and stabs her twice in the stomach with the last she twists. The waif takes off the borrowed face and Arya head butts her. The Waif falls backwards and Arya lunges across the other side of the bridge and rolls into the river, almost gracefully. Arya resurfaces, yes! I so didn’t want her to die ever!
