aron took Aaliyah in his arms and said; “My fiancé will walk down the aisle to become my wife, I promise!” The operation was arranged for the same day as Pseudonym were playing in Minneapolis. It could take up to six hours so Aaron wouldn’t be able to see her until after the concert but he could be with her when she went down for anaesthetic.
Aaliyah’s mother and father were with her also, and Aaron’s parents had called to wish them both all the best.
“This time next year you will be my wife!” Aaron smiled happily as Aaliyah was counting backwards from ten while the anaesthetic took effect. Aaron kissed her lightly on the lips before leaving for the sound check.
Aaron was quite excited, when Aaliyah was able to get around properly they could start living life to the fullest, so it was with a joyful heart Aaron bounded on stage to the opening chords of Odd World, Aaliyah’s favourite song.
As the concert finished Aaron was making his way off stage, he could see a look of almost terror on his manager Ian Trimble’s face. He stopped, whatever it was, he didn’t want to know. The other boys filed past Ian, who kept his eyes intent on Aaron, who was beginning to realise something bad had happened. Ian’s eyes gave way to pity, Aaron was still stood on the stage not moving.
Aaron felt like his legs had turned to lead, as he forced himself to put one foot in front of the other to find out what was wrong.
“I’m so sorry Aaron. There were complications… She didn’t come out of the anaesthetic…” Aaron’s knees felt like they were going to buckle, Ian was ‘not’ telling him Aaliyah had died. Bas grabbed him as he was about to sink to the floor and the other boys rallied round.
Aaron didn’t cope well with the funeral. “YOU CAN’T PUT HER UNDER THE GROUND SHE’S TERRIFIED OF CONFINED SPACES!!!” He screamed hysterically at the graveside as they started to lower the coffin into the grave, tears flowing down his cheeks and had to be led away by his father and Bas.
A year after Aaliyah had passed, on what should have been their wedding day Aaron made his way to London bridge with a bouquet of flowers. Around his neck he wore what should have been their wedding rings.
Bas entered the lounge to find a note on the table; ‘I’ve gone to see Aaliyah’. Aaron had spent a lot of time by Aaliyah’s graveside recently on the run up to what should have been the wedding. Fear however constricted Bas’s heart, something was off about this so he rang Aaron’s father, and then the police.
There was no hesitation as Aaron climbed over the rail and before anyone could stop him, he turned round and fell backwards into the water. Taking a last look up at the sky he said “I’ll see you soon Aaliyah…” before he slipped under the water.
Newsreader: “The body of Pseudonym lead singer AaronG was found on the banks of the Thames this morning. AaronG, real name Aaron Grant, was said to have suffered depression since the death of his fiancé Aaliyah Olio. Friends of the singer reported he left a note saying that he was going to see her when the singer went missing on Friday night, and has spent a lot of time at his fiancé’s graveside. The police are not looking for anyone else in connection with the stars death.”
Not since Juliet and her Romeo has there been a tale of more woe than that of Aaron G and Aaliyah Olio.
