aron shouted at the screen laughing, “Yeah, you best had!” . He'd had a hairdresser come in to dye his hair tonight, not all black but he had a black fringe, and he intended to wear some make-up tomorrow, and now he knew which book he'd be reading, he sat back smiling to himself.
SickG: “Put it on record! Nitey nite!”
Aaliyah called Beth, “This is going to sound really mad, but, just hear me out,” and she started laughing, what she was about to say was totally insane, and it took a few minutes for her to calm down enough, “Pseudonym are on the groovy club in the morning, and I've got a feeling,” she paused, she was imagining it she was sure, “I have a feeling Aaron G is reading Poe.”
“What makes you say that?” Beth asked confused.
“Oh I don’t know, I just had a weird conversation with SickG, we were talking about books, she's reading Poe, so she says, but I think she has read somewhere Aaron G is.”
“You OK?” Beth knew Aaliyah would be buried in a book tonight herself, trying to drive away the memories of six months ago.
“I'm going to bed with Bronte, I need a bit of Heathcliffe and Cathy tonight”
The following morning Aaliyah got up just in time for the interview and her jaw dropped, she could barely believe what she was seeing. Aaron G had dyed his blonde fringe black, was wearing black eyeliner smudged seductively around his eyes, he looked even more drop dead gorgeous than ever. The interviewer asked him what was with the change, his answer nearly floored her, “I'm just secure enough in my masculinity to wear makeup,” more or less what she had said to SickG, word for word, about boys who wore makeup. The groovy club was aimed at making education look 'hip' for kids, and the stars were asked what they were reading, Aaron was last, the book he pulled from behind his back, wasn’t Poe but,
“Wuthering Heights is my all time favourite book.”
At which her phone rang, it was Beth, “What did you say you were reading last night?” Aaliyah was staring at the screen in disbelief, “Umm,” was all she managed as she watched Aaron give an in-depth account of Bronte's classic. “It has to be paper, I can't get on with e-readers.”
Something very fishy was going on here. Even if the programme had been pre-recorded there was absolutely no way he could be talking about her book, she had mentioned it to SickG not the other way round. She had to be his girlfriend or something, she had to be bloody close to him. Aaliyah got herself in check, SickG had probably put it on the board last night, Pseudonyms advisor’s have seen it and suggested it? Was SickG Pseudonyms advisor? Beth gave her input, SickG was a boy, had a crush on Aaliyah, and was showing he was close to the band in order to gain her favour.
Later when Aaron got home he messaged Aaliyah,
SickG: “Wow Aaron G is reading the same book as you!”
Aaliyah Olio “Yeah the boy's got taste!”
SickG: “He's not renowned for being intelligent, but he does like to read.”
Aaliyah Olio “You almost sound like you know him.”
SickG: “What car do you drive?”
Aaliyah Olio “A micra automatic”
He was appearing on 6th Gear on Friday night.
The two talked all week, and when Friday came Aaliyah wasn’t really surprised to find SickG wasn’t online. SickG had told her AaronG was on 6th Gear, she put it on. She wasn’t surprised when he said his first car was a Micra automatic. When SickG came online later that night, he had a message waiting for him off Aaliyah.
Aaliyah Olio “I drive an automatic because six months ago I had a crash which has left me unable to walk properly and for the most part wheelchair bound. Now if you don't want to continue communicating with me I will understand. Aaliyah”
