iam was stood by her bedroom door laughing. Cass dove back to the bed to cover herself with the quilt and Liam turned the vibrating mat up to full. “Stop it!” she laughed.
“It’s supposed to be the last word in single ladies bed requirements.” Liam was by now almost beside himself with laughter.
“You know;” she said, “it’s really very relaxing” and she lay back down. “Turn it down a bit?” she asked him, he did so. “Woahhhhhhh leave it on… this is lovely!” and she motioned for him to hand her the remote control. Instead he jumped over her and lay on the other side of the bed.
“Wow you’re right! I’ll have to get myself one of these!” he said. Instead of getting up, however, he made himself comfortable. Cass gave him ‘the glare’ and he laughed, he was too comfortable to move.
“Out” she said motioning with her thumb to her bedroom door. Reluctantly he got up but looked like a puppy who’d been punished. She pointed to the door and he left; Cass settled down to the most relaxing sleep she’d ever had. At the weekend Liam had friends over so Cass made herself scarce. Two boys from university and a boy from work Liam had got friendly with recently.
“This is the big boss’s house, huh?” Niall said as he walked through the door. Liam agreed it was. He reflected that twelve months ago that statement would have infuriated him. He would have gone on about how she had stolen his birthright. How she had been a gold digger who after making sure everything would be hers had seen his father off. The truth however was; the house was hers because she had bailed his father out during the recession, making sure they kept the roof over their heads. She never made this house feel anything other than Liam’s home. Cassandra ‘made’ this place ‘home’. It was a steadying sobering thought >“She’s a lady.” Liam said his brow furrowing into a frown.
“But would you?” Ross asked smirking.
