n October 2017 over 100 photographers took to the streets of Newport for a 24-hour photo marathon, and now it is back!
The Newport Photomarathon returns on the 27th October with 12 new topics ready to challenge anyone with an interest in photography. The great thing about this competition is that you don’t need high tech kit to take part. If you’ve got a smartphone, digital camera or anything else that takes photos, then you can get involved. The aim of the game is to explore and have fun and take some photos. Back in 2017, I called this event a true urban adventure, and it truly was – find out how I got on here.
Even the youngest members of the family can join in, as under 14s can take part at a reduced rate of £3.84. They will be challenged to take six photos and a prize will be awarded for the best set of photos for entrants in this age group.
However, prizes are not limited to the children, as the adult categories have over £1000 worth of prizes up for grabs.
Everyone who enters will receive a starter pack including a discount at The Camera Centre in Newport as well a day bus pass provided by Newport Transport services. All images will also be printed and be featured in a public exhibition.
