s a DJ, I receive lots of strange requests, and not only of a musical variety. I see a lot of weird things.
This got me thinking about other ‘trades’. We have a fantastic client in the shape of Abacus Advance Automotive Services. These are my favourite revelations of a car mechanic from the internet.
A driver brought her car into the service centre complaining of a strange noise. The mechanic took the car out for a drive to find anything that squeaked, thumped or rattled at a range of speeds.
He contacted the woman to let her know he couldn't hear anything out of the ordinary. He convinced her to come for a drive with him instead, to see if together they could find the source of the noise. She took the hot seat and he asked her to do everything she would usually do when she was driving. She adjusted her seat, mirrors and the radio … and then wound down the rear windows. They drove off and before long the trademark ''whump-whump-whump'' pounded both of their ears as the cross-flow of air became trapped in the cabin.
Our mechanic stayed silent. ''That's it!'' she cried out. ''That's the noise!'' The mechanic then asked her to wind up the rear windows.
