It never ceases to amaze Deb and I, the lengths and depths people will go to, to get what they want - lying and back-stabbing - basically anything goes. Getting the upper hand in any situation is an absolute must, as a person trying to keep an eye on what they’re doing is very near impossible and is how those who we have problems with prefer it, you literally have to wait for them to make their move, in order for you to plan a response. Very often it’s a game of cat and mouse in which you’re going around in circles, re-visiting things that have been done before. They don’t seem to see that. We know this.
They very often know how to play the entire system to get the very best out of it, for them denial of a partner living at the address. To the likes of the police, he isn’t here when he probably is pulling a weepy to get them out of an awkward situation, laying things on extremely thick as to what they claim happened. All of this works and as a result, the real victim is presumed to be the guilty party it’s been like this for years.
Ok we know what’s coming you’ll say TCP’s have mitigating circumstances, marital problems, financial worries and so on which causes them to act and behave this way, but what about their often long suffering victims the vulnerable and disabled who are terrorised by them or their families, don’t we have mitigating circumstances too? Long term health and mobility issues, trying to fit in to a closed and narrow minded non-tolerant or accepting way of living.
We suspect those who chose to make our lives difficult see us as an easy target, a soft option, their plaything, a verbal and physical punching bag and knowing how the system protects them, they view what they do as trivial as going to the local shop for a loaf of bread. These people rise in number amongst the generations of people that disability awareness training and integrated education missed, so they’ll just carry on as they always have as they don’t know or don’t want to know any different.
If this were an advertisement or promotion for a block of flats of any size, it wouldn’t be a very good one, but we are simply revealing what we’ve seen and giving a voice to others who’ve seen this to tell us, let alone the world in our personal opinion. If they can pull the wool over your eyes and take full advantage of your situation such as a disability, they will.
Criminality of all kinds seems to be a way of life for TCP’s and an occupational hazard for a vulnerable or disabled person, saddled with a flat and forced to live with them as we may have already said, we have been the victim of numerous counts of theft; four 4 were incoming parcels signed for at the offending address, one being passed through an open window, it was this one that alerted us to the rest. How long would this have gone on had we not put a stop to it.
The parcel carrier on all occasions didn’t leave a card to say where he or she had left it, making it all too easy to steal what was rightfully ours, as we were not aware that they’d tried to deliver. We have now flagged up this block so those who need to know won’t act irresponsibly. Ok, so we’ve had replacements for all items but that really isn’t the point, it shouldn’t be happening in the first place.
This is it for now, but be sure to call back round for a coffee next week so we can have another chinwag about our next segment to the series. Until then, have a lovely day.
